The Author

Herb J. Smith II is a computer programmer and author who enjoys writing science fantasy. He holds a degree in English Literature as well as degrees in Computer Science and Law. On September 18, 2014, Herb released Keepers of the Dawn, the first installment of his four-book, science fantasy epic, The Dawn Cycle. Keepers of the Dawn is his third published work and his first novel.

Although now a computer programmer, Herb has previously worked at a myriad of jobs, ranging from field hand and construction worker to patent attorney and law clerk. Born and raised in Central Illinois, Herb moved to Jacksonville, Florida, shortly after his thirtieth birthday. There he currently resides with his wife, Jeri, and two short-tailed cats.
